Equipment

  • 1 Slow Cooker
  • 1 Food Thermometer
  • 1 Chinois Strainer (or Cheese Cloth and Colander)

Instructions

  • Pour milk into the slow cooker and cook on high for 2 - 2 1/2 hours.
  • Heat to 180 degrees.
  • Turn off the slow cooker and allow milk to cool to 110 degrees.
  • Allow the yogurt to come to room temperature while the milk is cooling.
  • Once the milk has cooled to 110-120 degrees, mix in the yogurt and whisk gently.
  • Wrap the slow cooker with towels and let it sit for about 6-12 hours.
  • Remove the towels and place in the refrigerator for 2 hours to cool completely.
  • Whisk until smooth and enjoy, or strain for Greek yogurt.
