Easy Peanut Butter Balls

Easy Peanut Butter Balls are a delightful embodiment of simplicity and flavour. These bite-sized, no-bake treats are a celebration of the classic combination of creamy peanut butter and rich chocolate.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable shortening (optional, for smoother chocolate coating)
  • Sprinkles or crushed peanuts for decoration (optional)

Directions:

Preparing the Peanut Butter Filling:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter and softened unsalted butter. Mix until smooth.
  2. Add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Stir until the mixture is well combined and forms a dough-like consistency.

Shaping the Peanut Butter Balls:

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Take small portions of the peanut butter mixture and roll them into small, bite-sized balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Once all the mixture is shaped into balls, refrigerate them for about 30 minutes to firm up.

Coating the Peanut Butter Balls:

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semisweet chocolate chips in 20-second intervals, stirring after each, until the chocolate is smooth. If desired, stir in the vegetable shortening to achieve a smoother coating consistency.
  2. Using a fork or toothpick, dip each peanut butter ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s evenly coated. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off.
  3. Place the coated balls back on the parchment paper or baking mat.

Decoration (Optional):

  1. While the chocolate is still soft, sprinkle some colorful sprinkles or crushed peanuts on top of each coated peanut butter ball.

Chilling and Serving:

  1. Refrigerate the peanut butter balls for about 30 minutes or until the chocolate coating has set.
  2. Once set, these delightful Peanut Butter Balls are ready to be enjoyed.
